Is Self-Acutalization possible as an addict?
From time to time I ask myself, why I am doing this? For Self-actualization… I think?
I perform, do blogs, vlogs, and social media along with staying in shape and I wondered, why?
Short answer, because I’ve dedicated myself to becoming a professional writer and comedian, and I love it! Yeah, I make daily blog posts to drive more traffic to my website. Sure, I stay in shape so people will think I’m attractive and I’ll look and feel better. Also, because I relish the feeling of knowing that when it comes to being the best I can be, that I try. Honestly, when I’m doing my thing I feel like a success, and even though I’m not a success yet, I feel like I’m going to become one eventually. I think that feeling is because those actions put me on the path of self-actualization.
I, like everyone, want to be self actualized and yet for so many of us it is merely a dream. Recently, I heard that you can not be self-actualized without being free from addictions. Hmm? That’s crazy considering the average American has at least half a dozen addictions at all times, from soft phone addictions to hard drug addictions. Is that why so many of us are so unsatisfied? Are we all just a bunch of addicts that’ll never reach our goals because we can’t stop looking at social media? If this is true, then what else is true?
Before I thought, “Bottom line is, if I put in the hard work to make my set, and my life, the best it can be I’m going to achieve things and be happy with my life.” But apparently that’s not entirely true…
I thought, “I’ll just get my act to where it’s razor sharp and then positive things will start happening in my life.“ Apparently, also not true. Now my ideas, plans and feeling about things are always changing and I’m constantly developing my approach to life, and the world, but after hearing that you can’t self-actualize while having addictions I was blown away… SMH, WTF? Is that really true?
I thought #MonkModeMay was one thing but now I see it’s even more. Monk mode May is an opportunity to kick addictions and put yourself in line and vibrating at the frequency of your destiny.

CLEANING UP YOUR ENVIRONMENT
I am looking to make my life better and that’s what MonkModeMay is all about. I’m trying to make it the best month of my life. I’m doing it by committing to cutting out all of my negative behaviors from drinking alcohol, to PMO, to excess sugar, to staying up late, to smoking too much weed, to spending too much time on my phone.
This post is about keeping your environment clean.
Nobody likes a difficult day but sometimes emotionally tough days are unavoidable. However coming home to a messy place is avoidable. Having a clean place makes handling all the stresses of everyday life waaay easier. Now cleaning is definitely something I don't like doing all the time so I tend to put it off. Then I realized if everyday I focused time on cleaning I’d actually have less daily cleaning to do and more time overall… JACKPOT! From a psychological standpoint maintaining a clean environment does wonders. Weird but very true.
To become a really successful person you must make yourself make the necessary positive changes in your life. You must push yourself. I try to clean at a designated time everyday so that it becomes a habit.
Cleaning regularly also helps you let go of attachments actually making you much happier long term. If you’re always cleaning then you’re always examining things and gauging whether or not something is clutter or actually necessary. So, you invariably get more organized, focused, and develop a feeling of lightness and internal preparedness.
You already know if you transmute all your energy in any direction you’ll get much greater benefits than if you continue using your skills and abilities the way you've been using them. Don’t get me wrong, cleaning first thing in the morning everyday isn't something I like to do but the effort is definitely worth all the benefits you’ll get from doing it. Yes, the juice is worth the squeeze. It’s part of being the best person you can be. It’s getting out of your own way. If you don’t wake up and start making things happen life will just be the same thing you’ve always had and who wants that? So,let’s get, So Fresh and So Clean Clean!

MONK MODE MAY #MONKMODEMAY
Well, I’m back to blogging again which is good. Hooray! Now, what shall I do with this momentum? To blog regularly usually I have to challenge myself and dangle some reward in front of my future self like a proverbial carrot. Anway this time is no different except this will be the biggest challenge I’ve ever faced… Yes, read on young padawan.
Wouldn’t it be cool if having your dream life was easy? Well, it’s not so quit your daydreaming!
Taking your life to the next level requires a plan. And my plan is a one month personal development program. I’m calling it Monk Mode May. There aren’t any clearly defined parameters other than it’s “One Month of Selfless Self-Improvement”. Basically It’s all about cutting all the BS out of your life. No excuses. Considering I won't be able to engage in many of my self-defeating behaviours for awhile it oughta be very helpful… Honestly, I think it'll be a great experience.
See, April was a good month for me and I want to build on that momentum. I didn’t eat as much fast food, or junk food, and a ran more too but when I realized one beer can make me feel like shit when I wake up. I said “F” that I’ve gotta make some changes. Jesus, that's incredible that one beer can make me feel so bad when I wake up in the morning... It's like I have no ability to handle booze!
Also, I did No Nut November awhile back in 2018, and it’s completely changed my relationship to porn and semen in general (but that’s another post) and I’ve had more nofap days this April, and in 2019 than I did in all of 2018. I’ve written and spoke about nofap before on my youtube channel and I can’t overstate how helpful doing nofap is. It helps me build motivation and productivity. There is an energy that you build up when you don't PMO and when you build up that energy what happens is you become stronger, better, more pure.
I really like how I feel when I'm on nofap. I actually like who I am more when I'm on nofap. I’m going to focus on completing Monk Mode May, one day at a time, and I'll see where I’m at after that. I just really look forward to all the different changes that I’m going to experience this month.
You must develop your own version of Monk Mode May, but here’s my own personal plan
NOFAP, i.e. No PMO
Keto, No fast food, no candy, no alcohol
Daily exercise, meditation, and yoga
No excess television
Daily reading, writing, and planning sessions
Wake up no later than 6 am, everyday
Complete 31 entries on my website (one for each day of the month)
Good luck, and I’ll see you at the top!

This Saturday!!! #Richmond #Virginia
I’m blessed to be performing in my old college town of Richmond, VA this Saturday night, thanks Mike!
Come watch me punch a whole in the time space continuum while making everyone laugh like a bunch of hyenas about to eat a bunch of silly geese. Hang out with me after the gig and enjoy basking in the radiant energy which is my aura. After the show feel free to chat with me about Ancient Alien theory or MMA or anything in between, because I’m that cool.
Hope to see you this Saturday and if I don’t just know that I’ll be very disappointed in you. knuckles

Keep doing things that make you proud of yourself, like living a #writerslife!
Accomplishing things makes me proud... I just completed the 750 Words April Challenge! The Challenge consisted of writing 750 or more words per day everyday for the month of April. I’m happy about this accomplishment and I feel a great deal of satisfaction.
We need to find out what makes us proud and keep doing those pride inspiring things.
I try to do my writing first thing in the morning when I’m fully energized and have no other distractions, like cute toddlers or a pretty ass white girl.
This month I’m going to shoot for about 1000 words a day and if I feel crappy then I'll stop at 750 words. The real reason I write so much is I get into a flow state when I really open and write a lot of words. I’m always trying to hit that flow state because once I’m there there everything seems to open up for me.
Reading first thing in the morning is another awesome way to get yourself writing more. You should really discipline yourself into having at least one book that you’re reading at any given time. Also committing to finishing any book you start.
Reading, writing, and speaking are without a doubt my strongest skills and the more I read the better I communicate. I can feel myself becoming a better communicator and I can’t wait to take on next month’s writing challenge and getting another 30 days of writing under my belt!
Colony Club Comedy Takeover
I'm changing my comedy writing process!
I see myself as a builder of bits versus a writer of bits. Other comics, bit writers for example, have a premise and they write a whole bit around that one premise hanging their jokes from that proverbial coat hanger. Me, I'm a joke writer... I write jokes and string them together to create my bits. (It’s a very constructivist approach). I’m focusing on tackling bits because I know how to write a joke. So it seems like exploring one premise and developing it at length is the best way for me to approach content creation at this point.
Well, that’s all I have for today.
Peace,
-Tim
I'm on 2 shows tonight!
I write everyday!
I write everyday because it gives me so many benefits from comedy creation to mental clarity. I suggest everyone have some sort of discipline that they focus on everyday and that will give you rewards you would never have even thought were possible.

NYE SHOW!!!
Vlog 36 Foundations for getting out of the basement 6: Update
Vlog 35 Foundations for getting out of the basement 5: W's
Vlog 34 Foundations for getting out of the basement 4: Having Good Days
I don't want you out in the world doing things incorrectly all the time.
Make sure you’re doing everything necessary to become who you want to be.
You need to do what you have to do to have the day you want.
Everyday you should be motivated to do that for yourself.
If you’re not sure if you’re doing enough to make your dreams a reality.
Getting yourself to the next level is all about doing what people on that plain of existence do.
You have to give yourself to the experience and after that then you’ll start achieving.
Committing to being the best person you can will make you hard on yourself.
When you expect a lot from yourself and you see someone taking it easy it’ll piss you off.
Think about the feeling of having your shit together… It’s a great feeling.
